Roughly 50 students and community members gathered in Red Square on Global Divestment Day, Friday, Feb. 13, to urge the WWU Foundation to divest from fossil fuel companies. After a 20-minute "human oil spill" demonstration around Fisher Fountain, the protesters walked to Old Main, where they read a letter aloud in the Western Foundation office.

Guard Jaamon Echols (Jr., Seattle/Rainier Beach) came off the bench to score 17 points and forward Jeffrey Parker (So., Richmond, CA/Salesian) added 16 as Western Washington University overcame a cold shooting night to claim a 64-61 victory over Saint Martin's University on Thursday, Jan.

Western Washington University held its first annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the Wilson Library Reading Room.

The event was followed by a screening of the award-winning documentary "Brother Outsider: the Life of Bayard Rustin."

The forecast today is much the same as it was for yesterday: foggy. Forecasters expect fog to hang around Bellingham through most of the day, with intermittent breaks revealing a dazzling blue sky dotted with clouds. Highs will be in the upper 40s.

Anne Cooper, vice president for the Sammons Financial Group, addressed Western Washington University graduates and their families at Western’s fall Commencement ceremony Dec. 13 in Carver Gymnasium.

Approximately 681 undergraduates and about 44 master’s candidates received degrees this quarter.

The annual Western Washington University holiday celebration took place on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room on campus.

The celebration will include a 50/50 drawing in which 50 percent of proceeds benefit the WWU Employee Distinguished Scholarship and 50 percent were given to winning ticket holder Cindy Monger, a program assistant with Student Activities.
