International Education Week begins Nov. 12

International Education Week is organized annually by the U.S. Departments of State and Education to broaden global awareness in the United States and to promote programs that increase international mobility.

Events are scheduled throughout the Western Washington University campus Nov. 12 to 15.

This year, Western’s participation is especially meaningful because two university-wide projects are underway on campus: the One World Curricular team is working on models for internationalizing the curriculum and the Internationalization Leadership Council, in conjunction with the American Council on Education’s Internationalization Laboratory, is working on a strategic plan for coordinating internationalization efforts across campus.

The Center for International Studies invites the campus community to join them in open forums on internationalizing the curriculum, Global Eats in the dining halls, student presentations on their international service-learning projects, a feature documentary film on intercultural understanding and a faculty presentation on the power of study abroad.
