BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE) selected six students to participate in the College’s Leadership Lunch sponsored by QBE Insurance on April 20.

The lunch was hosted in Bellevue by L. Arnold Chatterton, senior vice president of QBE.

The quarterly CBE Leadership Lunch Program recognizes students who have distinguished themselves through scholarship and leadership while in the College of Business and Economics.  Students are nominated by faculty in their respective departments.

The students who were selected include Logan Darling, Economics, Bellingham; Kyle Fleming, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, Bellingham; Karen Kunen, Accounting, Lynden; Brittany LaRiviere, Finance, Bellingham; Aric Mayer of the Evening MBA program, Bellingham; and Erica Peel, Management, Mount Vernon.

The students will be joined at the lunch by several [QBE] business executives and two CBE faculty members. At the lunch, students will meet with the business leaders to discuss topics concerning organizational leadership and career development. The lunch provides an opportunity for business professionals to contribute to the educational mission of the College of Business and Economics through their interactions with students and faculty.

The luncheon program is organized by the Center for Excellence in Management Education at the CBE.  The Center for Excellence in Management Education provides a variety of programs designed to connect business and industry leaders with faculty and students to promote business and economics education.
