WWU to Present 10th Anniversary of The Monologue Project Nov. 20-21

The Western Washington University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present the tenth anniversary of the Monologue Project at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 at Western’s Performing Arts Center.

The Monologue Project began in 2005 as a collaboration between Western and Fairhaven Middle School. The 2015 production includes over 40 never-before-seen monologues and marks a decade of giving voice to middle school students’ writing.

In addition to the college actors, a number of seventh-grade students will join the performers for the public performances at the PAC. Some Fairhaven students will perform their own monologues while others will perform monologues written by their classmates. Each performance will be followed by a talkback with the audience, during which the playwrights and actors will share their experiences.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 students. Tickets are available at the door or through the Western Box Office at (360) 650-6146 or tickets.wwu.edu; parking will be free in the VU Lot (6V) for the Monologue Project Ten.
