WWU to Host Carbon Washington Co-Founder Yoram Bauman Oct. 26 in Poulsbo

Western Washington University on the Peninsulas will host environmental economist Yoram Bauman as part of its Western Lecture Series at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26 at the WWU Center at Olympic College Poulsbo, Room 105.

The lecture is free and open to the public; RSVP is recommended but not required to attend.

In his lecture “Putting a Price on Carbon”, Bauman will discuss the economics of clean energy and his efforts to send Initiative 732 to the November 2016 ballot.

Bauman is the co-founder of Carbon Washington, a campaign working to create a revenue-neutral carbon tax in Washington State.  He has a doctorate in Economics and calls himself the “Stand-up Economist.” He performs comedy shows around the country to educate the public about economic issues, and has co-authored the cartoon series “The Cartoon Introduction to Economics” and “The Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change.” He also co-authored “Tax Shift,” a book which helped inspire British Columbia’s carbon tax shift.  

The Western Lecture Series hosts quarterly educational events with guest speakers as they share insight on popular topics in human rights, the environment, wellness, and more.
