WWU’s Ocean STEM After-School Program to be Offered This Winter in Anacortes

Western Washington University Youth Programs will be offering an Ocean STEM After School Program this winter.

The program will be held from 3:45 – 5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, February 16 – March 15 at Anacortes Middle School.

Designed for students in grades 5-7 to support success on the Science MSP, the Ocean STEM After School Program provides an opportunity for inquiry-based, hands-on learning in an active and engaging environment.

Each session features a different theme in the fields of science, engineering and technology. Participants will research and explore how creatures have evolved into their species of today, how creatures interact with each other and what species are at the top of the evolutionary ladder.

Students are asked to bring a rain jacket, healthy snack, water bottle, journal, pencils and a curious mind.

The Ocean STEM After School Program is provided by Western Washington University Youth Programs in partnership with the Anacortes School District and Shannon Point Marine Center.
