WWU exchange program looking for community members to spend time with visiting Japanese students

The Asia University America Program at Western Washington University is looking for a few people to hang out with visiting Japanese students this fall.

The AUAP's Community Friends program matches families and individuals from the Bellingham community with students from the WWU Asia University America Program for conversation, friendship and cultural exchange.

Community Friends are asked to attend the initial Community Friends Gathering on Oct. 14 and to schedule a home visit at least once during the students' five-month stay at Western. The visit allows the students to see an American home and family life and share some elements of Japanese culture.

The AUAP program needs at least 25 families or individuals to make this fall's program a success. For more information about the Community Friends program, visit the Community Friends website or contact Liz Lytle at (360) 650-2129 or liz.lytle@wwu.edu.
