WWU Department of Music Presents 'Collegium Musicum' Concert on May 12

BELLINGHAM – The Western Washington University Department of Music will present a concert by the early instrument group “Collegium Musicum” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Concert Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Conducted by WWU Music faculty member Bertil van Boer, the Collegium ensemble will perform the Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Trumpets with soloists Andrew Scheurich and Blaine Gosselin, as well as a Concerto by Christoph Graupner for 4 Timpani, and the Double Concerto for Violin and Viola by Johann Gottlieb Graun with soloists Cherilyn Reimers and Nicole Parise.  Other music on the program includes premieres of a symphony by Jonas Åman and a Regina coeli by Swiss composer Joseph Leonti Meyer von Schauensee.
