WWU College of Business and Economics to Host Christine Day, CEO of lululemon athletica, July 22

BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE) will bring Christine Day, chief executive officer of athletic apparel company lululemon athletica, to campus for its Executive Strategy Speaker Series on Friday, July 22.

Day will speak from 2-3 p.m. in Parks Hall 104. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Day, CEO of lululemon athletica since June 2008, is responsible for creating and executing the company’s long-term business strategies, directing its continued development and reinforcing its position as a global leader of yoga-inspired athletic apparel. Christine joined the company in January 2008 as executive vice president for retail operations, overseeing retail operations and the community relations, real estate development, guest education center and wholesale businesses.

Before joining lululemon, Day spent 20 years at Starbucks, where she held several key senior management positions, most recently as president of the Asia Pacific Group of Starbucks Coffee International. She has a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.

The CBE Strategic Management Executive Strategy Speaker Series brings senior business leaders to campus to interact with students and share their perspectives on strategic management, leadership and professional development.  The series is presented by the CBE’s Center for Excellence in Management Education.
