WWU Business Students Honored by Executives at Leadership Luncheon in Bellingham

Six Western Washington University business students were chosen to participate in a Leadership Lunch event held at WWU on April 22, 2016.

The lunch was hosted by Lydia Bennett of Saratoga Commercial Real Estate; Bennett is also the current chair of the Western College of Business and Economics’ Center of Innovation and Education (CIE) Advisory Board.

Other executives included Ali Alsos of Peoples Bank, Ken Reinschmidt of Saratoga Commercial Real Estate, Mark Lackey of Belcher Swanson Law Firm, Wendy DeFreest of Avenue Bread and Deli, and Frank Zurline of Bellingham Travel and Cruise.

The group of outstanding students represented each of the departments and majors in the College of Business and Economics. The selection of students was based upon faculty input that considered such criteria as academic achievement, student activities and service. The selected students included Jared Kasowski (Marketing, Vancouver), Hayley Lowe (Decision Sciences, Redmond), Maya Price (International Business, Missoula, Montana), Jesse Stigile (Management, Poulsbo), Alisyn Maggiora (MBA, Vancouver) and Rose Howe (Economics, Hayden, Colorado). 

Leadership Lunches are held quarterly and are sponsored by the Center for Innovation in Education.
