WWU art students juxtapose tiny, large landscapes for exhibit

Students in the Art 390 class at Western Washington University, under the tutelage of Garth Amundson, have installed an exhibition of their recent investigation into Scanning Electron Microscope experimentation.

The exhibit is in the foyer of the SMATE Building on campus and will remain there until March 15.

The concept behind the project, says Amundson, is "to address notions of miniature and mammoth in the context of landscape." Students worked for a couple of weeks with Erin Macri, instrument center services coordinator, to analyze something tiny and juxtapose it with perceptions of the great outdoors.
