World Issues Forum to Host Bruce and Bob Lanphear on Wednesday at noon

This week's Fairhaven World Issues Forum presentation is “Unleashing the Power of Prevention: Creating Video to Re-Imagine Our Approach to Disease,” by brothers Bruce Lanphear of  Simon Fraser University and Bob Lanphear, principal and creative director with Lanphear Design.

The Lanphears have teamed up to produce videos to show how we can prevent disease by reducing environmental risk factors that impact entire communities. They will also describe how they produced these videos to encourage others to produce their own videos. This talk will center around those videos, adding commentary on the current state of disease prevention.

Bruce Lanphear, MD, MPH, is a Clinician Scientist at the Child and Family Research Institute, BC Children’s Hospital, and professor of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. His work focuses on disease prevention, in particular, disease tied to exposure to toxic chemicals, industrial pollutant and excess consumption.

Bob Lanphear is an award winning graphic artist with a deep background in innovative, concept-to-completion design and communications. For more than 25 years, he has worked in fields ranging from Alternative Health Care to Spiritual Awakening, helping to craft the narratives that catalyze change in the world.
