Western Washington University to Host Poulsbo Lecture on Humanity’s Ecological Footprint March 19

Western Washington University on the Peninsulas’ Western Lecture Series is hosting Jenise Bauman in a free lecture titled “Native Plants in Restoration: Successes, Failures and Lessons Learned,” at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 19 in Olympic College Poulsbo Room 219.

Bauman will discuss how human impact on the environment has altered food supply, nutrient cycles and water movement, as well as management options available to restore native plants in our natural systems.

Bauman is an assistant professor of Environmental Science at Western on the Peninsulas whose research experience relates to planting methods and molecular techniques to better understand seedling establishment and disturbed soils.
