Western to Feature Northwest Author Bernadette Pajer at Poulsbo Book Group this October

This October, Kitsap county residents are invited to discuss Northwest-based author Bernadette Pajer’s “A Spark of Death,” an event part of the Local Literature Book Group series hosted by Western Washington University on the Peninsulas at its Poulsbo location.

The book group will meet for four sessions at the WWU Center at Olympic College Poulsbo, including from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 15 and 22, and from 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29. In addition to reading and discussing the book, participants will enjoy meeting with guest speakers and topic experts.

Following the final meeting, book group members will have the opportunity to meet Bernadette Pajer as she leads a public lecture entitled “Be the Author of Your Life: Lessons Learned While Writing Fiction” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29.

The Local Literature Book Group registration cost is $25, which includes a free copy of Pajer’s book for the first 20 registered.

Set in the early twentieth century, Pajer’s gripping tale centers on University of Washington electrical engineering professor Benjamin Bradshaw. After Bradshaw’s colleague is found dead, the Seattle Police Department begins to point fingers – ultimately leaving Bradshaw in an uncomfortable position as the sole suspect. The story then continues to follow his ardent pursuit to uncover the cause of death to clear his name.

Pajer has published a series of tales revolving around the mysteries of Bradshaw, which have earned her the Seal of Approval for Science from the Washington Academy of Sciences.
