Western’s Huxley College of the Environment to Host Career and Internship Fair Feb. 11

Western Washington University’s Career Services Center and the Huxley College of the Environment will host the Huxley Environmental Career and Internship Fair from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 in the Viking Union multipurpose room.

The event is free and open to students in any major who are interested in exploring internships, summer jobs, or a career that addresses the challenges of creating a sustainable society. They will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from 40+ government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and industry.

To make the best impression, students can attend the workshop, “Preparing for the Huxley Internship/Job Fair,” from 3-5 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 2 in Artzen Hall 30. Students are encouraged to research the organizations in advance and bring resumes to the Fair.  Many organizations have posted their positions in Viking CareerLink and can be reviewed prior to the fair.

This annual event is co-sponsored by the Career Services Center and Huxley College of the Environment.  Participants include Puget Sound Energy, NOAA, North Cascades Institute, Seattle Aquarium, Washington State Department of Ecology, Taylor Shellfish Farms and more.
