Western presents 'Commedia in the Park' July 4 to 6

Western Washington University Department of Theatre and Dance presents “Commedia in the Park,” directed by WWU Theatre faculty member Rich Brown, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday, July 4-6, in Bellingham’s Maritime Heritage Park downtown.

The show is free and open to the public.

Presented by WWU Theatre students enrolled in the summer course “Advanced Acting Topics” taught by Brown, “Commedia” is a highly physicalized, masked comic performance originating from the Italian Renaissance. The show features well-known stock characters such as the tricky servants, young lovers, and foolish old men.
