Western BFA students to present 'The Grand Disappearing Act' in Seattle

Artists Teresa Grasseschi and Megan Harmon will present “The Grand Disappearing Act,” an exhibition of their latest work made during their year of BFA study at Western Washington University, beginning May 5.

“The Grand Disappearing Act” will feature photographic and mixed media work, exploring the value placed on common physical objects within American society. Teresa Grasseschi highlights ideas of memory, time and identity that are associated with the personal photograph. Megan Harmon uses shredded money in both mixed media and photography to address curiosities associated with value.

The exhibition will be on display at the Corridor Gallery in the Tashiro Kalpan building located at 306 S. Washington St., in Seattle. The opening reception will be held during Seattle’s First Thursday art walk from 5 to 9 p.m. on May 5. The exhibition will run through May 28. The gallery is free and open to the public Fridays and Saturdays from 12 to 5 p.m.
