Want to teach an Honors Program seminar? Apply by Jan. 28

Western Washington University faculty members hoping to teach an honors seminar have until Jan. 28 to submit their proposals.

As many as six positions (subject to availability of funds) are available for the 2011-2012 academic year; each is .083 FTE for a one-quarter Honors Program seminar.

Interested faculty members should submit descriptions of proposed seminars to George Mariz, director of the WWU Honors Program, by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. E-mail submissions should be addressed to honors@wwu.edu. Print submissions should be sent to mail stop 9112.

Proposals should not exceed 500 words, but faculty members are advised to include in addition syllabi, bibliographies or other attachments as appropriate. Faculty must also attach the numerical summary sheets from teaching evaluations for honors courses previously taught or for classes with similar formats, i.e., small, discussion-based classes.

Those planning to submit a proposal are asked to inform their chair or dean, as appropriate, to allow their department or college to make plans in the event the seminar is accepted. Applicants should indicate any scheduling preferences, including quarter, days and hour.
