Want a faculty summer grant? Apply by March 1

Faculty members who have always wanted to enhance their courses using web-based tools such as tutorials, simulations or online assignments may apply for one of four or five awards of $4,000. The money is available for summer quarter 2011.

The program acquaints faculty with models, open-source resources and ideas for web-based course enhancements and provides support for enactment. Faculty must be available to attend a five-day campus workshop in mid-June and will then work independently to implement their improvements, supported by staff members from ATUS and the Center for Instructional Innovation and Assessment.

For more information, contact Justina Brown in the CIIA; she can put interested faculty members in contact with last year’s awardees. To apply, faculty members should complete the form available online and send with supporting documents via campus mail to the CIIA.

The deadline for submission is March 1, 2011. More information is available on the web.
