Volunteers needed for MLK Day Read-In

Western Washington University’s Center for Service-Learning and Village Books are sponsoring the 2014 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Read-In. Children will have the opportunity to learn about in the hope, determination and leadership of Dr. King through literature, dialogue and activities facilitated by Western student volunteers.

The WWU Center for Service-Learning is currently looking for student volunteers to participate in the Read-In on Monday, Jan. 20. Please share the volunteer opportunity with students you teach/know/work with; interested students to should contact celeste.lordan@wwu.edu or call 360-650-7542 to sign up.

Village Books and Western’s Associated Students Bookstore will also have books available for purchase as part of the MLK Day Book Drive. Donation bins will be set up at both locations, and any books donated will benefit the library of Alderwood Elementary School. Stop by the AS Bookstore during the month of January to purchase and donate a book.
