The 2014 Trashion Show, featuring the work of sophomore students in Western Washington University's Industrial Design program, took place on Wednesday, March 19, in the Old Main Theater.

For the show, students created clothing designs by re-purposing trash and recycled materials.

The theme of the 2014 show was "Earth, Wind and Fire."

"With the Trashion experience, they have another opportunity to expand and add another dimension to their design," said Arunas Oslapas, the program director for WWU Industrial Design and an associate professor in the program. "This is a usable outfit that has to be put on a human. It has to be comfortable, it has to be functional, and also outrageously beautiful. And there's also the transformation of trash into something more valuable. In other words, celebrating something that's been discarded."
