Update: Western Libraries Winter 2022 Hours

Beginning Monday, Jan. 24, Western Libraries building hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The Wilson north doors will remain open as long as staffing allows. If the north doors are closed, access to the library will remain via the Haggard entrance.

Programs and services provided by the Tutoring Center and the Hacherl Research & Writing Studio are available in person Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Online hours for both the Tutoring Center and the Hacherl Research & Writing Studio are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Access to Special Collections (Wilson 6th floor) as well as the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies and University Archives and Records Management  (both located in the Goltz-Murray Archives Building), is available by appointment.

Departmental Delivery is not operating at this time. Faculty and staff may pick up their requested materials at the circulation desk when the library is open, or we can mail items to your home address. Please contact library staff (library.circulation@wwu.edu) if you would like to change your pickup preference.

Please note: Library hours are subject to change pending staff availability and/or evolving public health guidance. Any changes to library programs and services will be provided in future updates and will be shared via the Libraries’ website, Library News, social media, and Western Today.  Western Libraries’ current schedule reflects our intention to provide a continuity of services despite impacts to staffing caused by the ongoing pandemic. By concentrating library staffing during regular business hours, back-up staffing can be more readily secured at point-of-need, allowing us to provide adequate coverage for employees who are unexpectedly unable to work because they are ill, quarantining, or caring for sick family members.

In keeping with Western Washington University’s health and safety requirements, all individuals must be masked at all times when indoors. This includes when inside library facilities, other indoor public spaces on Western's campus, and WWU transportation.
