April 19: Earthquake Catastrophe Preparedness:  Don't wait for walls to start shaking to begin thinking about emergency preparedness! This seminar is designed to help you and your family be safe and prepared for whatever may come your way. 1:00 pm in HU 210.

April 25:Ergonomics: Reducing Stress and Strain on Your Body:  Ergonomics is the science and practice of fitting living and working environments to the people in them. Learn the different ways to make home and work more comfortable.

April 27: Make the Most of your Retirement Savings: Learn the importance of saving as much as possible for retirement, how much to save for retirement and the benefits of saving more, different account types you can use to save for retirement, and ways to preserve and grow your savings to last throughout your lifetime.

May 2: Palliative Care, Understanding End of Life Care:  As the health care industry faces major reform, we are trying to re imagine what “health” means through all life's phases.  This presentation will explore the varied dimensions of palliative care and the role of Western's Palliative Care institute. Discussion regarding Advance Care Directives and written statements created to make your wishes known regarding medical treatment.  Please review more information on the WWU training website.

May 4: Employee Assistance Program:  Learn how to access no-charge, confidential services available for all state employees and their family members. From personal to workplace issues – you will learn about the various kinds of resources and help that EAP offers.

May 10: Home Fire Safety: Nobody thinks a fire will ever happen in their home. Unfortunately, no home is ever free from the risk. This safety seminar will help you be aware of potential home fires and how to best avoid them.

May 24: Roth 401(k) and Roth 403(b): Get an introduction to the different contribution options. Learn the difference between Roth vs traditional pretax vs Roth IRA. Walk away with an understanding of the different benefits and considerations of each. Please note this workshop will be held in the Student Health Center, CS239.

June 22: Take the First Step to Investing: Understand the basics of investing, recognize the importance of asset allocation and diversification, and identify your investment approach.
