TedxBellingham event Nov. 12 to be broadcast live in MPR

TEDxBellingham kicks off on Tuesday, Nov. 12, with a day of inspiration, creativity and community in the spirit of Ideas Worth Spreading.

Although tickets are sold out for the main event at the Pickford Film Center, the Teaching-Learning Academy in the Western Libraries will be sponsoring a free viewing of the livecast in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room at Western Washington University while the event is happening.

The event will bring together dynamic thinkers, inspiring speakers, innovative musicians and performers, and Bellingham’s visionaries to celebrate the city's unique sense of place. The theme of the event is “Here by Choice.”

Marli Williams, an academic support coordinator in Student Outreach Services at WWU, is the co-curator for the event and is excited to share these incredible talks with the Western community through the viewing party.

Seventeen speakers will take the TEDx stage to share their ideas worth spreading with Bellingham and the world. Western’s own Jasmine Wilhelm will be one of those speakers. A senior majoring in Art and Recreation, Wilhelm will speak about the incredible lessons she has learned from her mom.

Check out the roster of the other speakers who will be sharing their insights and wisdom.

Talks will be happening throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
