Tech group to discuss ebooks at Wednesday meeting

Jennifer Dixey of Academic Technology and User Services at Western Washington University will discuss the Apple iBooks Author platform for creating iOS-compatible multi-touch interactive textbooks at the Learning Technology Group meeting from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in Viking Union Room 567.

Dixey's presentation will be followed by a talk from Nicolle Wilson, of Science Engineering & Mathematics at publisher McGraw-Hill, about McGraw-Hill's Connect and Create eBooks/Blackboard component for constructing custom textbooks and connecting them to Blackboard courses.

The Learning Technology Group at Western is an ongoing collaboration of Academic Technology and User Services, working with the Center for Instructional Innovation and Assessment, to engage faculty in implementing and evaluating new technologies for teaching.
