Teacher prep candidates continue to score well on state exams

Candidates in the Teacher Preparation Program in Woodring College of Education continue to score well on the Washington Educator Skills Test – Endorsements (WEST-E) subject exams. For the 2010-11 academic year and the previous year, 92 percent of candidates passed their exam(s) on the first sitting.

Washington state requires that teacher candidates pass the WEST-E subject knowledge assessment for each endorsement to be earned. Endorsements are subject areas in which Washington state teachers are prepared and authorized to teach.
