Submissions for Annual Diversity Poster Contest Close April 24

The annual Diversity Poster Contest held by Western’s Residence Life Office is open for submissions by campus residents until April 24.

Students living on campus can enter poster designs that capture the look, feel and character of the word “diversity,” and what it means to them. The top poster will win a $400 gift certificate to the Western bookstore, followed by $250 for the first runner up and $150 for the second runner up.

Created in 1997, the contest hopes to provide a diverse, inclusive, safe and sustainable community that fosters personal growth.

Tomoko Matsui, resident director of Nash Hall said, “The contest is so important because participants are provided with opportunities to use their artistic skills to express what diversity means in their lives.”

Posters can be submitted to the Residence Life Office in Edens Hall 113 by Tuesday, April 24 by 5 p.m.

Posters must include the phrase “Beyond Myself: Strength in Each Other,” and can be hand drawn or digitally created. Along with their designs, students must include an artist statement.
