Students can enter to win $500 for past research papers

Western Washington University undergraduates could win an award of $500 for a paper they've already written thanks to Western Libraries' new Undergraduate Research Award.

Students have until April 15 to submit their papers. On May 15, the library will announce the winners of three separate $500 awards honoring the students whose papers are selected as best demonstrating excellence in research.

Papers must have been written for WWU credit classes during this past fall or winter quarter and should include an application cover sheet, a 500- to 750-word reflective essay describing the student's research strategies and use of library tools, a bibliography and a letter of support from the WWU faculty member for whose class the research was completed.
