Students and faculty to present at Scholars Week Showcase May 19

Western Washington University’s Center for Service-Learning will play host to a showcase during Scholars Week to celebrate collaborative scholarship and service projects among students, professors and community organizations.

The showcase, from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in the Wilson Library Fourth Floor Rotunda, will feature inspiring presentations and poster sessions highlighting undergraduate students' community-based scholarship and successful projects with community organizations.

The Center for Service-Learning will present this year's Outstanding Service-Learning Faculty Award to Sheila Webb, assistant professor of journalism, for her in-depth exploration of concepts and practices of service learning pedagogy in her Advanced Visual Journalism 346 class.

Presentations will begin at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served at this event.
