Student group to hold Pilipino Cultural Night May 27

The Associated Students club Filipino American Student Association is holding the third annual Pilipino Cultural Night at 6 p.m. May 27 in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The event will showcase Pilipino culture through performances by the club and performers from other state schools. Performances will include traditional and modern dance, spoken word performances and songs.

The price is $5 for members of Northwest Filipino American Student Association or students with WWU student ID or $8 for the general public.

The Filipino American Student Association was established in 1994 when it separated from the Asian Pacific Student Union. The club's goal has been to spread awareness of the Filipino culture at Western. Today, it strives to build a stronger Filipino community on campus as well as foster the talent, academic success, and well-being of members. The club is diverse and accepts people from different cultural backgrounds.
