Steele to discuss access to history at WWU Connections event June 14

Ruth Steele, archivist for the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies at Western Washington University, will present "Views to the Past: Accessing Archives in the Digital Age" from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Village Books in Fairhaven.

Steele's presentation is part of the WWU Connections series, a brown bag speaker series highlighting the expertise of WWU faculty and staff co-presented by the Western Washington University Libraries and Village Books.

Current web and digital technologies provide exciting opportunities to share information and historical records about people, places and events from times past. In her presentation, Steele will discuss archival collections available at WWU’s Center for Pacific Northwest Studies and will talk about the center’s ongoing work to preserve and provide access to holdings including historic photographs, oral histories and more.
