WWU to host 'Envisioning Immigration Reform: Views from Both Borders' April 2

Western Washington University’s Anthropology Department and Border Policy Research Institute will co-host a community forum, “Envisioning Immigration Reform: Views from Both Borders,” from 1-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 in Viking Union 567 on the WWU campus.

The forum, which will be moderated by the BPRI Director Don Alper, is free and open to the public, and is co-sponsored by the Society for Applied Anthropology, the School for Advanced Research, and Community to Community Development, with additional support from Humanities Washington.

Among the panelists scheduled to speak at the forum are Diane Austin of the Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology at the University of Arizona; Bellingham immigration attorney and community advocate Hannah Stone; Kerry Preibisch of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph, Ontario; Manpreet Grewal of Abbotsford Community Services; and James Loucky, WWU professor of Anthropology.
