Various administrative positions see new faces

Were you able to keep up to speed on that flurry of retirements/hires/job changes that took place in Western Washington University administration during the past two quarters?

Here's the lowdown on who's new this year:

Jeff Wright is the new dean of the College of Sciences and Technology, replacing Arlan Norman, who retired. Francisco Rios, filling the shoes of the retired Stephanie Salzman, is the new dean of Woodring College of Education. Tim Wynn recently retired, too, and hired to replace him as director of Facilities Management was John Furman. Vicki Hamblin, chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and a professor of French, is the new director for the Center for International Studies. Extended Education has a new leader, too, in vice provost Earl Gibbons. Professor Kathy Kitto, associate dean of CST, has taken on a new leadership role in Academic Affairs. David Brunnemer is now the director of the Registrar's Office, and Karen Stout, an associate professor of communication, is the new Faculty Senate president. The newest face on the WWU Board of Trustees is student Jacob Whitish. Anna Ellermeier is the new president of the Associated Students, succeeding Colin Watrin.
