Career Services Center introduces Viking CareerLink

Western Washington University’s Career Services Center is introducing Viking CareerLink, an upgraded version of the job and internship posting system formerly known as Symplicity.

Viking CareerLink’s new features will allow students to apply for positions and choose available interview times directly through the system. Employers will now be able to request on-campus recruiting sessions online and have real-time access to student applications.

Over 1,100 employers have signed up with Viking CareerLink to post job and internship opportunities and nearly 2,000 positions have been posted since the system was implemented last year. At any given time, there are between 300 and 400 active job and internship listings in Viking CareerLink.

Western students and alumni are encouraged to create a Viking CareerLink account and explore career opportunities within specific areas of interest. Searches can be conducted by industry, company, geography, position or key word. Faculty members can also use the system to research companies and positions appropriate for their students.

Viking CareerLink’s official launch date is Wednesday, Sept. 21. Accounts are free to employers, faculty, students and alumni. Those interested in setting up an account should visit the Career Services Center website or call (360) 650-3240 for additional information and instructions.
