Brinton Scott to speak at WWU May 13 on avoiding operational risks in China

Western Washington University’s Center for International Business will host Brinton Scott, managing partner and head of the Shanghai office of Barlow, Lyde and Gilbert, at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, in Parks Hall 441.

The talk is free and open to the public.

Scott, who will present “Operational Risks in China and How to Avoid Them,” has worked in China for the past 13 years. He joined BLG in 2009 to lead the Shanghai office and drive the future development of its China practice.

Scott has extensive experience in advising Fortune 500 and large private multi-national corporations in foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, merger controls, reorganisations, joint ventures, employment, intellectual property, and technology and licensing. He has worked in an array of sectors, including insurance, aerospace, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, publishing, automotive, property and construction, and media and entertainment.
