Beginning Jan. 11, WWU to offer free counseling through Psychology Department

Beginning Jan. 11, graduate students in Western Washington University’s Psychology Department will provide counseling, under faculty supervision, for families and individuals. Both of these services are free:

  • Western’s Counseling Training Clinic has openings for families seeking counseling for a wide variety of family concerns. Appointments for families and couples are available Tuesday evenings from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • The clinic also has openings for individual counseling of adults, adolescents and children. Appointments for individual counseling are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Counselors are trained to deal with a wide range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, family concerns, relationship difficulties, vocational choices, grieving, communication problems, parent-child conflicts and childhood issues.

Anyone interested in these services can call Lynn Graham in the Psychology Department at (360) 650-3184 at any time and leave a confidential message with a contact phone number.
