Sociology students, faculty, staff and alumni participate in Seattle conference

Several current undergraduate students, faculty and former students of the Department of Sociology recently participated in the annual meeting of the Pacific Sociological Association in Seattle. The following current undergraduates presented their research: Ashley Smith, Bradley Mills, Jenna Alise Williamson, Jillian Kavanagh, Leah Huotari and Monika Anderson. Faculty and staff also participated in the program and/or mentored the undergraduates in their research, including Glenn Tsunokai, Baozhen Luo, Jen Lois, Liz Mogford, Seth Feinberg and Lucky Tedrow.

Several recent WWU sociology alumni also presented their research, including Adrienne Ramm, Philip Pendergast, Allison McGrath and Nate Porter. In addition, the department was well represented on the program by former students, including Amy Fuhrman and Brandon Kilgore, who are currently enrolled in graduate programs at the University of Washington and University of Colorado-Denver, respectively. Former students who are now sociology faculty were also on the program, including Julie Brines (University of Washington), Peter Callero (Western Oregon University), Matthew Hall (University of Illinois, Chicago), Joanna Gregson (Pacific Lutheran University) and Julie Harms Cannon (Seattle University).
