Seventh Annual Global Gourmets Banquet set for Feb. 26

The Seventh Annual Global Gourmets Banquet will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room. 

The event is coordinated by International Student & Scholar Services, the Institute for Global Engagement, and University Catering.

Student volunteers work with the University's executive chef to reproduce authentic dishes from their home countries, which form the centerpiece of this elegant event. As guests enjoy taste traditions from around the world, each student shares a short presentation on their country and the significance of their chosen dish.


We are pleased to announce the international student presenters & dishes for 2020 are:

  • Dhiyaa Ramadhan – Indonesia  -Indonesian Chicken Satay (Satay Ayam)
  • Michael Mena Fernandez – Spain - Spanish Chicken with peppers (Pollo al chilindrón)
  • Ahsima Shrivastava – India - Indian Chickpea & potatoes (Chole Aloo Tikki Chaat)
  • Trang Nguyen – Vietnam - Vietnamese Banana Cake (Banh Chuoi )

 

WWU students, faculty, staff as well as community members are invited. 

Tickets can be purchased at the PAC Box Office, by phone at 360.650.6146, or online (additional fees apply to online purchases).  Tickets are $12 for WWU students, $20 for faculty/staff/community members.
