RSP holding winter workshops to aid in grant writing

Research and Sponsored Programs at Western Washington University has created several workshops to help faculty and staff members write more effective proposals to external agencies. This new series is in response to requests from several campus members. The sessions are interactive and meant to build a community for those involved in writing proposals.

The second workshop of winter quarter will take place at noon Jan. 20 in Haggard Hall Room 101. RSP's Tracey Finch will lead a discussion covering the ins and outs of budget creation for external agencies. Using Western's standard budget template, attendees will create a budget. Attendees should come prepared to create a budget of their own including sample costs and salaries.

Future winter workshops:

  • On Jan. 27 in Haggard Hall Room 101, Ron Marks will lead a discussion on principles and practices of on- and off-campus collaboration.
  • On Feb. 3 in Viking Union Room 462, Tracey Finch will discuss topics relating to budget justifications and broader impact statements.

Graduate students and new faculty are encouraged to attend.  If you would like to RSVP for the second workshop or would like to be added to the email list for workshop information, please contact the RSP Program Coordinator, Coco Besson, at coco.besson@wwu.edu.
