Robert DeLong to play WWU concert Nov. 22

Electronic artist Robert DeLong will be playing on Nov. 22 on Western Washington University's campus in a concert being put on by the WWU Associated Students.

DeLong, a northwest native, was born and raised in Bothell before moving to L.A. to study music at Azusa Pacific. Though inspired by indie-alternative music such as Death Cab for Cutie, a band formed at Western, DeLong’s music takes on a high-energy mix of techno, electronic, soul, alternative, rock and pop. DeLong’s recent hits include “Don’t Wait Up,” “Long Way Down,” “Happy” and his break-out single “Global Concepts.”

Alternative music is the most requested style from Western students and the AS is thrilled to bring an artist as original and popular to Western, AS Productions Marketing Coordinator Aarin Wright said.

“At AS Productions we try our hardest to bring content that satisfies the interests of all students,” Wright said. “But beyond Robert Delong’s popularity, we find him super original, in how he experiments with different sounds and pushes the limits of the electronic and rock and roll genre.”

The show will be Sunday, Nov. 22 in the Viking Union Multi-Purpose Room at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m., standing room only. Tickets are $12 with Western ID and $16 without. Tickets can be purchased at the PAC Box Office or at tickets.wwu.edu.
