Repairs being made to Ridgeway sewer line

Sewer lines serving part of the Ridgeway Complex have failed and require emergency repairs beginning Thursday, July 10.

The main sewer line is in the service road that runs along the soccer field south of the Science, Mathematics and Technology Education building. To access the line, the north end of the service road must be excavated. The pedestrian sidewalk is closed, and barricades are set up on both ends, but fencing will not be installed.

During construction hours (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) the road will be reduced to one lane and a flagger will be present to direct traffic. During all other hours, the road will be open to two way traffic.

The north side of the double doors to the track bunker building will be blocked, but the south side will remain open. During off hours, the mini excavator used for trenching will be parked between the track bunker building and the sidewalk. Equipment staging and a dump truck will be located in the grassy area west of the Wade King Student Recreation Center. Please use extra caution in this area or avoid it if possible. The work is scheduled to be complete July 23.
