Registration underway for WWU Great Puzzle Hunt April 9

Registration is now underway for a massive puzzle hunt (think scavenger hunt, but with puzzle-solving) at Western Washington University April 9.

Teams of up to six members each can sign up for the First Annual WWU Great Puzzle Hunt, which will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, in Red Square on Western's Bellingham campus. Registration is free, and teams can be made up of faculty, staff, students or a mixture thereof.

Prizes will be awarded to the top student teams.

At the event, teams will travel on foot throughout campus, solving a collection of puzzles at various locations. Each puzzle results in a code word or words which must be entered to stop the clock for that problem. Time is a factor. Once the proper code words are entered, teams will be sent to the next destination. View sample puzzles on the Out in Science website.

In addition to teams, volunteers also are needed for the event. Those interested in volunteering should contact Millie Johnson at Millie.Johnson@wwu.edu.
