Ready to Paint B’ham Blue for WWU? Join Us This Evening to Welcome Our Students

The WWU Alumni Association invites you to the fifth annual Paint B'ham Blue for WWU, an event welcoming our new and returning Vikings to Western!

Paint 2020 is virtual, and it’s charged with lots of excitement! Tune-in this evening from 7 to 7:30 p.m. for this action-packed welcome celebration! The online event includes an interview with "Bellingham State of Mind" creator Nathan Cox, a performance from Seattle rockers Beverly Crusher, cameos from well-known alumni, Victor Viking at his animated finest, and a giveaway.

“While our regular Paint B’ham Blue festivities have been complicated by the need to ensure everyone’s safety, our commitment to creating a sense of belonging and community for new students is as strong as ever,” said Western President Sabah Randhawa. “Despite the constraints required to keep everyone safe, we are excited to welcome incoming students to Western and help them feel at home in the Bellingham community.”

Each year, the City of Bellingham, the WWU Alumni Association, local retailers, and our supporting sponsors gather to host this festive event. Although thousands of students won’t be parading through the city this year to the cheers of alumni and friends, you can still enjoy blue lights in the downtown trees, WWU banners on downtown light poles, the famous acid ball illuminated in Viking blue, and the Herald Building sign turning blue.

New and returning students can still register for a Paint kit with lots of swag and goodies to welcome you to Western.

Paint B’ham Blue for WWU would like to thank the City of Bellingham, BECU, WECU, and Peoples Bank for their sponsorship.

To join the event this evening at 7 p.m., download Paint posters, check out tips from alumni, view a digital photo mosaic, and order a Paint kit, please visit: https://alumni.wwu.edu/paintbhamblue

See you this evening!
