Joseph Trimble (Psychology, Assessment, WCE) recently was selected to be a distinguished member of the External Scientific Advisory Committee for the National Collaborating Research Centers to Reduce Oral Health Disparities by the National Institute of Health's National Institute of Dental and Cranofacial Research. His appointment is for four successive years with the possibility of  a renewal.

Knute Skinner (English, emeritus) had his poem "Old Postures" published on page 3 of "The Silt Reader," No. 11 (2009). Also, his poem "Morning and Afternoon" was published in "North American Review," Vol. 293, No. 5, p. 37.

Paul Piper (Library) had his poem "Art in America" published in "Off the Coast," Vol XV, No. 2 (Summer 2009).

Joseph E. Trimble (Psychology, Assessment, WCE) presented the keynote lecture at the biennial 5th Critical Multicultural and Diversity Counselling and Psychotherapy Conference sponsored by the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. The address was titled "Bear Spends Time in Our Dreams Now: Magical Thinking, Ritual, and Spiritual Considerations in Counselling Theory and Practice." In addition, he participated in a personal "In the Therapist Chair" interview with one of the senior conference coordinators.

Paul Piper (Library) had his poem "Camp French Toast" published in "Raven Chronicles," Vol. 14, No. 2 (2009). He also had his poem "Triangular Sail" published in "The Unrorean," Vol. 9, No. 1 (Summer/Fall 2009).

Paul Piper (Library) had his article "All (Almost) on the Internet: Freely Available Science Information Resources on the Web" published in "Searcher," Vol. 17, No. 6, June 2009. Piper wrote the article with Barry N. Brown.

Joan Stevenson (Anthropology), with Eldon R. Mahoney (Sociology, retired), Phillip Walker (University of California, Santa Barbara, deceased) and Phillip Everson (Anthropology), had her article "Technical Note: Prediction of Sex Based on Five Skull Traits Using Decision Analysis (CHAID)" published in "American Journal of Physical Anthropology," Vol. 139, No. 3, pp. 434-441, July 2009.

Rob Bedi (Psychology) served as an expert discussant on an international panel titled “Suicide Risk in Psychotherapy” presented at the annual convention of the Society for Psychotherapy Research on June 25 in Santiago, Chile. Bedi also presented a paper titled “Counselling Psychology in a Canadian Context” at the annual convention of the Canadian Psychological Association on June 11 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Tom Roehl (Management) has been appointed to the editorial review board of the Journal of International Business Studies.
