'Private Lives' from WWU Theatre Arts continues through Aug. 7 on campus

The Western Washington University Department of Theatre Arts presents Noel Coward’s “Private Lives” at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, July 31, and Aug. 4 to 7 in the Old Main Theater on Western’s campus.

An incredibly sophisticated and entertaining play, “Private Lives” tells the tale of Elyot and Amanda – two people who were once married and who meet by chance while honeymooning with their new spouses at the same hotel. Elyot and Amanda reignite the old spark and impulsively elope, but soon find their fiery romance once again alternating between passions of love and anger. Their aggrieved spouses appear and a roundelay of affiliations ensues as the women first stick together, then part, and new partnerships are formed.

Guest artist Jon Kretzu, from the Portland-based Actor’s Repertory Theatre (ART), will direct this production.

Tickets are available through the WWU Box Office and cost $10 general; $8 seniors, WWU faculty and staff, and students.
