PostSecret founder Frank Warren to speak Jan. 27 at WWU

The Associated Students Productions Special Events will host PostSecret founder Frank Warren at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the Performing Arts Center Concert Hall.

This event is open to the public and will cost $15 for Western students with ID and $20 for general admittance. Tickets are on sale now online or in person through the Western PAC box office.

PostSecret is a community project founded by Warren. People mail postcards with their secrets to Warren, who posts some secrets to his website on Sundays or compiles the secrets into books.

“Everyone has a secret,” said Maddy Vonhoff, Associated Students Productions Special Events coordinator. It’s therapeutic to share secrets and important for people to know that they are not alone, she said.

“If even one person comes out feeling more connected and less alone, the event will have been a success,” said Shalom Long, Associated Students Productions director. “We see a need for students to have ways to connect.”

Long said she believes PostSecret is a creative way for people to clean out their closets and share experiences.

For more information about the event, or for disAbility accommodations, contact Maddy Vonhoff by phone at 360.650.3738 or by e-mail at asp.special.events@wwu.edu.
