Viking women win at home to move to 8-1 on the season

Tournament MVP Jessica Summers (Sr., Blaine) scored all of her team-high 17 points in the second half, leading Western Washington University to a 66-58 victory over Sonoma State University in final-day women's basketball action Monday at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference/California Collegiate Athletic Association Crossover Classic held on Haggen Court at Sam Carver Gymnasium.

The Vikings improved to 8-1 with the triumph. Guard Megan Pinske (Jr., Coquitlam, BC/Port Moody) added 10 points and four steals for Western, which tied for the tourney title at it defeated Chico State, 80-59, in a first-day contest Sunday.
