Thousands to visit campus for Summerstart

Summerstart, Western Washington University's advising, registration and orientation program for new freshman students, began this morning and will continue through Aug. 16 on the Western campus.

Participants register for one of the eight two-day session blocks, and  more than 2,400 new students and 1,550 family members are registered to attend.

The program features academic advising and support, class registration, informative workshops and peer-led orientation sessions about Western and campus life. An extensive information fair for students and families to become more familiar with Western's services and resources is held at 8 a.m. on the second day of each block in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

For more information, check out the New Student Services / Family Outreach Summerstart website or contact the NSSFO office at (360) 650-3846.
