Students create short film in 48-hour contest

The Third Annual 48-Hour Film Festival, put on by Western Washington University's KVIK Television, took place from April 17 to April 20.

Student teams were given 48 hours to plan, film, edit and deliver a film to festival planners.

WWU student photographer Mindon Win followed one team, Dolly Llama Productions, as they created their short film "A Part."

The group's randomly assigned genre was silent film, and the elements required to appear in the film were a dollar bill, a street performer and the line, "How many times do I have to tell you?" At bottom is the finished product, which won second place overall and won the Audience Choice award. It was screened at the awards ceremony in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room at then the Pickford Film Center in Bellingham.
