Pet a dog in Western Libraries through June 12

From Monday, June 2, through Thursday, June 12, Western Libraries will be joined by members of the Pet Partners program. Students, faculty and staff may stop by to say hi and de-stress when they feel the need for a quick break from studying for finals or writing those last few papers.

This marks the two-year anniversary of Western Libraries' affiliation with this unique, beneficial and very popular program. In order to mark this anniversary, beginning Tuesday, June 3, thank-you cards will be located at both the Circulation and the Learning Commons info desks. Feel free to stop by and leave your own personal note of appreciation to the Pet Partners program participants.

Pet Partner teams have met certain standards of skills and aptitude and are considered safe, healthy and well behaved by various agencies. The dogs represent registration in Whatcom Therapy DogsPet PartnersTherapy Dogs InternationalLove on a Leash, and Dogs on Call. While Dogs on Call does not certify dogs themselves, they act as a "placement agency" who accepts only registered dogs on their roles, verifies their suitability and attempts to connect them with organizations in the community.

Pet Partners are located in the gallery space at the beginning of the Skybridge on the Wilson side of the library.
